1.Who we are
The website at www.mobot.io (the “Site”) is operated by Team Mobot, Inc. (“Mobot,” “we,” “us” or “our”), a company headquartered at 405 Lexington Ave., 8th Fl., New York, NY 10174, USA. Mobot provides mobile app testing using real mechanical robots, physical devices and quality experts. Our older domain, teammobot.com, redirects to this Site.
For the purposes of data protection laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), Team Mobot, Inc. is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us about privacy at sales@teammobot.com (see Contact us).
“Personal information” means information that identifies, relates to or could reasonably be linked to you, such as your name, work email address or an online identifier stored in a cookie.
2.What this policy covers
This policy covers personal information we handle about:
- visitors to the Site;
- people who submit our website forms, book a meeting with us or email us;
- people who see or respond to our advertising on LinkedIn, including LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms; and
- business contacts at prospects, customers and partners we communicate with for sales and marketing.
It does not cover the apps, builds, test data or other content our customers provide to us so that we can test their apps. We process that information on our customers’ behalf under our written agreement with each customer (for example, a Master Services Agreement), and the customer’s own privacy policy governs it. If you are a user of one of our customers’ apps, please contact that customer directly.
3.Information we collect
Information you give us
Our website forms are submitted to HubSpot, our customer relationship management (CRM) and marketing platform. The forms currently collect:
- Request a demo: work email, company, the testing gap you’re most interested in and, optionally, a description of what you’re testing.
- Contact us: first name, last name, work email, company, the topic you need help with and your message.
- Annual Defect Report download: work email and, optionally, company.
- Newsletter sign-up: work email.
- Meeting booking: if you schedule a call through the HubSpot Meetings calendar on our demo page, HubSpot collects the details you enter there (such as your name and email address) and the time you choose.
Our forms ask for a work email address and do not accept common personal email domains. When you submit a form we also record the page you submitted it from and, if you have accepted cookies, the HubSpot cookie identifier in your browser so the submission can be connected to your earlier visits to the Site.
If you email us, speak with us or meet with us, we keep the information you share, such as your name, job title, company, contact details and the content of our communications.
Information we receive from LinkedIn
If you submit one of our LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms, LinkedIn shares the information in that form with us. See LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms below.
Information collected automatically
- Log and device data. Like most websites, our hosting provider, Vercel, automatically receives standard technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time of the request. We use this to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the Site.
- Usage data. We measure how the Site is used, for example which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive and approximate location (country or region derived from IP address). Some of this is collected only if you accept cookies. See Analytics.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See the next section and our Cookie Policy.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send us, sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers, financial account details, health information or precise geolocation) through the Site.
5.HubSpot
We use HubSpot, Inc. (“HubSpot”) as our CRM and marketing platform. HubSpot:
- receives and stores the information you submit through our website forms and meeting scheduler;
- is loaded on the Site only after you accept analytics cookies on our banner (until then no request is made to HubSpot from your browser, and our meeting scheduler is shown as a link instead of an embedded calendar);
- if you accept cookies, sets tracking cookies that record the pages you visit on the Site and, once you submit a form, associate that activity with your contact record; and
- helps us send and measure emails, including whether an email was opened or a link was clicked.
HubSpot processes this information on our behalf as our service provider. You can unsubscribe from our marketing emails at any time using the link in any email. Learn more in HubSpot’s Privacy Policy.
6.LinkedIn Insight Tag
We use the LinkedIn Insight Tag, a piece of code provided by LinkedIn Corporation and its affiliates (“LinkedIn”). It loads only after you click Accept on our cookie banner. If you decline, or never make a choice, it does not load.
When it runs, we use it to:
- measure the performance of our LinkedIn ads;
- track conversions, such as when a visitor who clicked one of our ads later requests a demo or downloads the Annual Defect Report; and
- build audiences so we can show our ads on LinkedIn to people who have visited the Site (retargeting), and see aggregated, non-identifying reports about the professional characteristics of our visitors.
The tag lets LinkedIn collect information about your visit, such as the page URL, referrer, IP address, device and browser characteristics and timestamp, and set cookies in your browser. If you are a LinkedIn member, LinkedIn may link this activity to your LinkedIn account. LinkedIn does not share your identity with us, and the reports it gives us are aggregated. According to LinkedIn, it removes direct identifiers from this data within 7 days and deletes the remaining pseudonymized data within 180 days.
How to opt out: click Decline on our cookie banner, or change your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the Site footer; clear your browser cookies; or manage ad preferences in your LinkedIn advertising settings. For more information, see LinkedIn’s Privacy Policy and LinkedIn’s Cookie Policy.
7.LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms
Some of our LinkedIn ads include a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form, which lets you request content (such as the Annual Defect Report) or a follow-up without leaving LinkedIn. When you submit one, LinkedIn shares with us the information in the form, which may be pre-filled from your LinkedIn profile. Depending on how each form is set up, this may include your name, email address, company, job title, seniority, industry, company size, country, phone number and your answers to any questions in the form.
We use this information to deliver the content or response you asked for, to follow up with you about Mobot, and to measure the results of our ads. We store it in HubSpot along with our other contacts. LinkedIn handles the information under its own Privacy Policy and shows you the details being shared before you submit. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time or ask us to delete your information as described below.
8.Analytics
We use the following analytics tools on the Site:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC). Loads only after you accept cookies. It uses cookies to measure page views, traffic sources and how visitors move through the Site. We keep Google’s advertising storage settings off, and we do not use Google Analytics for advertising. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- HubSpot analytics. Loads its tracking cookies only after you accept. See HubSpot.
- Vercel Web Analytics (Vercel Inc.). Provides aggregated, privacy-focused statistics (such as page URL, referrer, approximate location, device type, operating system and browser). It does not use cookies; Vercel distinguishes visitors using a hash of the incoming request that is discarded after 24 hours, and it is not used to identify individuals or follow you across other websites. It stores nothing on your device, so it runs without a cookie choice, but never after you click Decline or turn analytics off, and never when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. We strip query strings from page addresses before they are sent. Learn more in Vercel’s Web Analytics privacy documentation.
9.How we use information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your requests, such as demo requests, questions and content downloads;
- schedule and hold meetings and follow up with you about Mobot’s services;
- send you information about Mobot, such as our newsletter, reports and event invitations, where permitted by law (you can unsubscribe at any time);
- operate, maintain, secure and improve the Site, including preventing spam and abuse;
- understand how the Site is used and measure the effectiveness of our marketing and advertising, including on LinkedIn;
- manage our relationships with prospects, customers and partners; and
- comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not use personal information from the Site to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you based solely on automated processing.
10.Legal bases for processing (EEA and UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases:
- Consent: for analytics and advertising cookies (Google Analytics, HubSpot tracking cookies and the LinkedIn Insight Tag), and for marketing emails where the law requires consent. You can withdraw consent at any time through Cookie settings or the unsubscribe link, without affecting processing that happened before.
- Legitimate interests: to respond to business enquiries and Lead Gen Form submissions, follow up with business contacts, run and secure the Site, use cookieless aggregated analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) and keep business records. We balance these interests against your rights, and you can object at any time.
- Contract: where processing is needed to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, or to perform a contract with you or your organization.
- Legal obligation: where we must process information to comply with the law.
12.California and other U.S. state privacy rights
This section applies to residents of California and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA”).
Categories of personal information we collect
In the past 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information:
- Identifiers, such as name, work email address, phone number (if provided through a LinkedIn Lead Gen Form), IP address and cookie or other online identifiers.
- Professional or employment-related information, such as company, job title, seniority and industry.
- Internet or other electronic network activity, such as pages viewed, referring pages, interactions with the Site and ad interactions.
- Approximate geolocation derived from IP address (not precise geolocation).
- Other information you choose to provide, such as the content of form messages and emails.
We collect this information from you, from your browser or device, and from LinkedIn. We use it for the purposes in How we use information, and we disclose it for business purposes to the service providers and other recipients listed in How we share information. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA, and we keep each category only as long as described in How long we keep information.
“Sale” and “sharing”
We do not sell personal information for money. However, if you accept cookies, the LinkedIn Insight Tag gives LinkedIn identifiers and internet activity from the Site that we use for ad measurement and retargeting on LinkedIn, and the Google Ads tag gives Google identifiers (including ad click identifiers) and activity on the Site that we use to measure our Google ads. Under the CCPA, this may be considered “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and in some U.S. states it may be treated as a “sale” or as “targeted advertising.” In the past 12 months, the categories that may have been shared in this way are identifiers and internet or other electronic network activity, and the recipients are LinkedIn and, once our Google Ads tag is live, Google. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Your right to opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising: the LinkedIn Insight Tag, the Google Ads tag and other advertising and analytics cookies are off by default and load only if you click Accept. To opt out, click Decline on our cookie banner, or if you previously accepted, open Cookie settings in the Site footer and decline. We also treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out. Because this choice is stored in your browser, you will need to make it on each browser and device you use. You can also email us at sales@teammobot.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share” and we will stop any sharing we control that is linked to your contact information.
Your rights
Subject to certain exceptions, you have the right to:
- Know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it;
- Delete personal information we collected from you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising;
- Portability: receive your information in a portable format; and
- Non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others) have similar rights. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or by emailing sales@teammobot.com with the subject “Privacy appeal.” If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state attorney general.
You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may ask the agent for proof of authorization and ask you to verify your identity directly with us.
Shine the Light. California residents may also ask us, once per calendar year, about personal information we disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. Email us at sales@teammobot.com with “California Privacy Rights Request” in the subject line.
13.International data transfers
Mobot is based in the United States, and our service providers process information in the United States and other countries. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those where you live. When we transfer personal information from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK addendum) or a service provider’s certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions, where applicable. You can contact us for more information about these safeguards.
14.How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, and then delete or anonymize it. In general:
- Contact and lead records (including form and Lead Gen Form submissions) are kept while we have an active or potential business relationship with you or your organization, and are deleted or anonymized when they are no longer needed or when you ask us to delete them, unless we must keep them longer.
- Unsubscribe and opt-out records are kept so that we can continue to honor your choice.
- Cookies expire according to their settings (for example, the Annual Defect Report access cookie lasts about 7 days). Analytics and advertising data is retained by the relevant provider under its own retention settings; for example, LinkedIn deletes Insight Tag data within 180 days.
- Customer and business records are kept for as long as required by our agreements, and for tax, accounting and legal purposes.
15.Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access, use, disclosure or modification. For example, the Site is served over encrypted HTTPS connections and access to our systems is limited to people who need it. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will notify you and regulators of a data breach where the law requires us to.
16.Children
The Site and our services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
17.Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Delete your personal information;
- Portability: receive your information in a structured, machine-readable format or have it sent to another organization;
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and object at any time to direct marketing;
- Restrict our processing in certain circumstances;
- Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent, for example by changing your Cookie settings; and
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising (see California and other U.S. state privacy rights).
EEA and UK residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the country where you live or work or where an alleged infringement took place. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first, so please contact us.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email, even if you do not make a formal request.
18.How to make a request
To exercise any of your rights, email us at sales@teammobot.com and tell us which right you want to exercise. Please include your name and the email address you used with us.
- We will verify your request by matching the information you provide with the information we hold, and may ask for more information if needed. We will only use it for verification.
- We will respond within the time required by applicable law: generally within one month for GDPR requests and within 45 days for CCPA requests. Where the law allows, we may extend this period and will tell you if we do.
- We do not charge a fee unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
- If we cannot fully meet your request, for example because we must keep certain information to meet a legal obligation, we will explain why.
19.Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal or a Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a Decline and an opt-out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising for that browser: we do not load HubSpot tracking, Google Analytics, Google Ads, the LinkedIn Insight Tag or Vercel Web Analytics, and this applies even if you previously clicked Accept in that browser. You can also email us at sales@teammobot.com to opt out.
20.Links to other websites
The Site links to websites and services operated by others, such as LinkedIn and other social media sites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not apply to your activity after you leave our Site. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.
21.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies or legal requirements. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page and change the “Last updated” date above. If we make material changes, we will take additional steps to inform you where required by law, such as a notice on the Site or an email. Where the law requires your consent to a new use of your personal information, we will ask for it.
